Jennifer Hill is the Inaugural Bob Baxt AO Chair of Corporate and Commercial Law at Monash University and Director of the Centre for Commercial Law and Regulatory Studies (CLARS). She previously served as Professor of Corporate Law at the University of Sydney from 2002 to 2019, holding the title of Professor Emerita there. Her expertise lies in comparative corporate law and governance, with a focus on financial market regulation, managerial accountability, and performance-based pay structures.
Education: BA LLB (Hons) from the University of Sydney and BCL from the University of Oxford. She has held visiting positions at institutions including Cambridge University, NYU Law School, and Duke University.
Research interests include corporate governance frameworks, post-GFC financial stability reforms, and the legal implications of corporate social responsibility. Her work is cited globally in judicial decisions and academic literature.
Grants include studies on financial market regulation post-2008 crisis, strategic risk-shifting in performance-based pay, and legal aspects of the 'good corporate citizen' model.
