Jennifer Hill is the inaugural Bob Baxt AO Professor of Corporate and Commercial Law at Monash University’s Faculty of Law and Director of the Centre for Commercial Law and Regulatory Studies (CLARS). An internationally recognized scholar, her research spans comparative corporate law and governance, with a focus on global shareholder stewardship, directors’ duties, and executive compensation.
- Education: BA LLB (Hons) from the University of Sydney; BCL from the University of Oxford.
Her work contributes to global debates on responsible capitalism and aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Recent publications analyze shareholder rights, ESG stewardship, and transnational legal norms. She has held visiting positions at institutions including NYU, Cambridge, and Vanderbilt, and serves on advisory boards for organizations like the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI).
- Scientific Awards: Life Membership (CLTA/SCoLA), Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law, Senior Global Research Fellow (Hauser Global Fellows Program).
Jennifer co-led the Enhancing Corporate Accountability research grant and participates in global networks advancing sustainable finance and corporate governance reform.
