Jennifer Hewson is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social Work, University of Calgary, with a focus on gerontological social work, age-friendly communities, and experiential learning. Her research bridges social work education, intergenerational relationships, and aging-in-place strategies.

Teaching & Practice: Dr. Hewson has led field education initiatives, redesigned thesis programs, and emphasized inquiry-based learning. She has served in leadership roles including Associate Dean - Teaching and Learning and Director of the Centre for Social Work Research.
Grants & Collaborations: Currently engaged in SSHRC and CIHR-funded projects with Drs. Meghan McDonough (Kinesiology) and David Nicholas (Brenda Strafford Foundation) exploring pandemic impacts on older adults and robotic animals in care facilities.
