Jennifer Campion is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Waikato's Te Piringa Faculty of Law and serves as Associate Dean Academic - Special Projects in the ALPSS PVC's Office. She holds an LLM from the University of Waikato (2018). Her research focuses on intellectual property law, property law, climate change law, energy law, and environmental law, with particular emphasis on copyright governance and sustainable energy policy. She currently serves on the New Zealand Copyright Tribunal and leads the University of Waikato's Copyright Office. Campion has contributed to national and international debates on climate change legislation, energy democracy, and curriculum design in legal education.
Her teaching responsibilities include LEGAL307 Land Law, LEGAL468 Intellectual Property Law, and LEGAL520 Advanced Intellectual Property Law. She has pioneered curricular reforms integrating climate change into legal studies, exemplified by her work on the Bachelor of Climate Change degree program. Her recent research explores topics such as upcycling's legal frameworks, hydrogen energy regulation, and performers' rights in digital contexts.
