Jennie Jones is a Senior Research Fellow at the Learning and Teaching Hub, University of Brighton, School of Education. Her work focuses on pedagogic research in higher education, with a strong emphasis on student and staff experiences, transitions, and learning journeys. She teaches research methods on the PGCAP and chairs the Hub's research ethics panel.
Research Interests: Her research spans doctoral education, student transitions (especially for first-year and international students), belonging, engagement, and qualitative methodologies such as narrative and appreciative inquiry. She explores how academic, professional, and personal factors shape student success.
Her recent publications reflect a consistent focus on student resilience, inclusive pedagogy, and institutional interventions like the Changing Mindsets and Belong at Brighton projects. Themes across her work include growth mindset, decolonizing curricula, and the development of educational and social capital among diverse student populations.
