Jenö Czuczai is a Visiting Professor in the European Legal Studies Department at the College of Europe (Bruges and Natolin campuses) since 1997-98. He currently serves as an Adviser in Strategic Legal and Institutional Affairs to the Council of the EU (since February 2023), following roles as Senior Legal Adviser (2020-2023) and Legal Adviser (1991-2001). He has held leadership positions including founding President of the Hungarian FIDE Association and Vice-President of the European Law Academy in Budapest.
- Education: Doctorate in Legal and Political Sciences (summa cum laude), ELTE University, Budapest (1991)
His research focuses on EU Structural and Investment Funds Law, EU External Action Law, and Rule of Law mechanisms within EU institutional frameworks. He has authored over 110 academic articles and 15 books, with recent work analyzing financial conditionality, EU migration crises, and institutional challenges to EU common values.
Recent publications reveal trends in EU Constitutional Law, Legal Transitology, and International Legal Disputes. Notable works include CJEU jurisprudence analysis and conceptual frameworks for EU-neighboring agreements.

- Successful in EU (EPSO) open competition for Head of Unit posts (2005)
He has participated in over 100 international conferences as keynote speaker and served as agent for the Council of the EU before the CJEU, including landmark victories in the Mayotte case (2015). He co-founded the Hungarian FIDE Association and European Law Journal in Hungary, and teaches EU Law and legal transitology at multiple universities.
