Professor Jeffrey M Skopek is a Professor of Law at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Law and serves as Deputy Director of the Centre for Law, Medicine and Life Sciences and Deputy Director of Examinations. His scholarship critically examines how advances in biosciences destabilize foundational legal and ethical concepts, with particular focus on health law, bioethics, and emerging technologies.
His educational background includes an AB in History (with distinction) from Stanford University, a PhD and MPhil in History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Cambridge, and a JD (magna cum laude) from Harvard Law School, supported by Fulbright, Gates, and Truman Scholarships.

He investigates implications of personalized medicine, big data, and artificial intelligence in healthcare, while maintaining significant contributions to privacy/anonymity theory, animal rights, and environmental ethics. His current projects address AI in healthcare and animal rights frameworks.
His 15 most recent publications reveal consistent thematic focus on health law intersections with technology, demonstrating growing emphasis on AI applications in medical diagnosis, privacy challenges in big data, and ethical frameworks for emerging biotechnologies alongside persistent engagement with animal rights and environmental jurisprudence.
