Jeffrey A. Carr is a Professor at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University, where he has been a faculty member for over two decades. He teaches marketing, competitive strategy, and entrepreneurship across MBA, EMBA, and undergraduate programs. Carr has held key leadership roles, including Executive Director of the NYU Stern Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (2007–2012) and Director of the NYU Stern Fashion & Luxury Lab.
His research and expertise center on strategic marketing, resource allocation, pricing, and entrepreneurship. He has extensive real-world experience as a consultant for global firms such as IBM, Pfizer, Kodak, Pepsi, and Time Inc., and has collaborated with the World Health Organization on healthcare branding initiatives in developing countries.
Jeffrey Carr has been recognized with multiple teaching awards, including the Stern/Citibank Teacher of the Year (1998), NYU Stern Teaching Excellence Award (2011), and Stern Faculty of the Year (2012). His work bridges academic rigor with practical application in start-ups, small business development, and luxury sector strategy.
He earned his MBA in Marketing from Tulane University (1986) and a BA in Economics from Wright State University (1978). Carr has been self-employed since age 23, reflecting his deep entrepreneurial orientation.
