Jeff Reading is a Professor at Simon Fraser University's Faculty of Health Sciences and holds the First Nations Health Authority Chair in Heart Health and Wellness at St. Paul's Hospital. With over two decades of experience in Indigenous health research, he founded the Centre for Aboriginal Health Research at the University of Victoria and served as Scientific Director of the Institute of Aboriginal Peoples' Health at CIHR.
His research focuses on environmental health, air pollution exposure assessment, epidemiology, and social determinants of health including potable water access, diabetes prevention, and healthcare accessibility for Aboriginal Canadians. Dr. Reading played pivotal roles in developing Canadian ethics guidelines for Aboriginal health research and contributed to global Indigenous health solutions through the Canadian Academy of Health Science.
