Jeff Gilis is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Wyoming, housed within the College of Agriculture, Life Sciences & Natural Resources. Since January 2025 he has served as full-time faculty and as the Director of the GPND program. Previously he spent five years as a full-time faculty member at the University of Northern Colorado in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Research & Teaching Interests
Jeff’s scholarly work centers on disease prevention and health promotion, sports nutrition, and innovative approaches to nutrition and dietetics education. His practical background as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) since 2013, combined with prior certification as a Personal Trainer, informs evidence-based instruction that bridges classroom theory with real-world application in clinical, community, and athletic settings.
