Jeff Camkin is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Australia's Centre of Excellence for Ecohydrology and a visiting professor at Portugal's Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil. He specializes in water governance, policy, and integrated water resource management. His roles include fostering collaboration between science, policy, and stakeholders, with a focus on global initiatives.
Education: B.App.Sc. (Fisheries) from the University of Tasmania (1992), Grad.Dip. (Natural Resources Law) from the University of Wollongong (1997).
Research interests center on water governance, climate adaptation, and transdisciplinary approaches to water management. He has contributed to UNESCO programs, the HELP initiative, and policy frameworks in Australia, Europe, and beyond. Current projects include developing UNESCO water management courses and PROWATERMAN initiatives in Portugal.
His recent articles emphasize climate resilience, transboundary water governance, and regional policy analysis. Awards include the 2021 International Eminent Scientist Award and the 2013 Best Paper Award.
Grants and leadership roles span decades, including directorships at the Australian Water Association and CSIRO. He has advised governments on water law reforms and participated in over 20 parliamentary inquiries and working groups.
Labs/Teams: Collaborates with the UNESCO International Centre for Coastal Ecohydrology, PROWATERMAN, and global research networks focused on water security and SDGs.
