Dr Jed Odermatt is a Reader at The City Law School, City St George's, University of London, where he contributes to the International Law and Affairs Group (ILAG) and the Institute for the Study of European Law (ISEL). His research spans public international law, EU external relations law, and legal pedagogy, with a focus on sustainability, interdisciplinary teaching, and inclusive curriculum design.
- Qualifications: PhD (University of Leuven), MA in Academic Practice (City St George’s), LLM (Tilburg University), and dual bachelor’s degrees in Law and International Studies (Flinders University).
- Research Highlights: Explores intersections between EU legal autonomy, customary international law, and global governance. Author of International Law and the European Union (Cambridge, 2021) and Principal Investigator for the Working Together for Change project on sustainability education.
Teaching: Leads modules like Sustainability and Climate Change and Public International Law, integrating legal, scientific, and social perspectives. Coordinates postgraduate research training and serves on the editorial board of The Law Teacher.
