Jeanne L. Tsai is the Dunlevie Family Professor and Professor of Psychology at Stanford University, with affiliations to the Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute. She is Director of the Stanford Culture and Emotion Lab and Co-Founding Director of the Asian American Research Center at Stanford. Her research investigates how culture shapes affective processes and their implications for health, decision-making, and social interactions.
- Education: B.A. in Psychology (1991), Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (1996), both from Stanford and UC Berkeley.
Her work integrates Cultural Psychology, Neuroscience, and Affective Science to analyze emotional valuations across cultures, including studies on social media sentiment, AI and cultural values, and pandemic response strategies. Her recent publications highlight cultural differences in neural responses to social rewards, affective content virality, and ideal affect's role in multicultural societies.

Jeanne Tsai advises doctoral students in Psychology and mentors postdoctoral researchers. She has led initiatives in Cultural and Emotion Studies and served on advisory committees for the Difficult Dialogues Institute and International Society for Research on Emotion.
