Jeanine Young

Professor Jeanine Young AM is Deputy Head of School for Research at the University of the Sunshine Coast's School of Health. As a neonatal nurse and midwife, her research reduces infant mortality through innovations like the Pēpi-Pod Program and ESCCaPE trial. She received the Order of Australia for contributions to medical research and nursing.

Her work focuses on evidence-based safe sleeping strategies for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, combining portable sleep spaces with culturally responsive education. She leads national initiatives addressing social determinants of infant health outcomes.
