Naomi Howell is an Associate Lecturer in Nursing at the University of the Sunshine Coast's School of Health. As an Aboriginal woman and member of the Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwives (CATSINaM), she brings indigenous perspectives to healthcare education. Her clinical background includes extensive experience in acute medical nursing across specialties including stroke, geriatrics, and immunology.

Research focuses on improving outcomes for geriatric populations through emergency care models and vascular access techniques. Current PhD studies investigate vascular access in geriatric populations through the Alliance for Vascular Access Teaching and Research (AVATAR). Additional interests include health law, ethical frameworks, and evidence-based practice in clinical settings.
Teaching responsibilities include courses on health law and ethics, nursing theory, and best practice frameworks in undergraduate nursing programs. Professional memberships include CATSINaM and AVATAR.
