Jeanette Sjöberg is an Associate Professor in Pedagogy at Halmstad University, Sweden, affiliated with the School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences. She holds a PhD in Child and Youth Science (2010) and has been active as the head of the Centre for Educational Development (HPC) since 2014. She also serves as an Education Coordinator for the Smart Cities and Communities focus area (since 2022) and Theme Leader for the LeaDS research program (Learning in a Digitalised Society). Her roles include pedagogical strategist in the MAISTR project, funded by the KK Foundation, and former member of the university’s Research and Education Board (2017–2022) and Swednet board (2015–2022).
Her research focuses on three main areas: applied media pedagogy, higher education pedagogy, and collaborative projects with municipal actors. She leads the VRiS project (Virtual Learning Environments) and participates in the Nordic EDUCERE network, examining digitalization in higher education. Her work emphasizes technology-enhanced learning (TEL), VR/AR applications, AI integration, and teacher professional development.
Recent publications (2022–2025) explore AI self-efficacy in K-12 education, VR environments for multilingual learning, and Nordic perspectives on digital transformation. She has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and conference papers, often addressing digital pedagogy, educational design, and innovation in teaching practices.
Jeanette’s contributions extend to academic development initiatives, quality enhancement in higher education, and strategic educational partnerships. She actively collaborates with Nordic institutions and has led projects funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR) and ULF.
