Johanna Sjöberg

Johanna Sjöberg is an Associate Professor at Linköping University, affiliated with the Theme Children (TEMAB) under the Department of Theme (TEMA). Her work bridges childhood studies, consumer culture, and visual cultural heritage.

Research Focus: She investigates how children are positioned in consumer culture, historical commercial childcare markets (1915-1975), and preservation of children's visual cultural heritage. Key projects include "Flykt från skammen" (VR 2017-01769) and "Barns kulturarv - arkivets visuella röster" (DIGARV 2020).

Recent Publications explore collaborative methodologies, digital archival practices, and gender portrayals in advertising, often in interdisciplinary contexts. Her 2025 work on terror museum collections highlights emotional curation.
