Associate Professor Jean Spinks is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for the Business and Economics of Health under the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Queensland. She integrates expertise in health economics, pharmacy, and health systems research to improve population health outcomes through optimal medicines use in primary care. Her current leadership in the MRFF-funded ACTMed trial explores pharmacist-led interventions to reduce medication-related problems, with partner organizations including the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia and NACCHO.
Her research spans Indigenous health (e.g., IMeRSe service development), medication safety (UTIPP-Q pilot), pharmacist workforce models, and consumer preferences for pharmaceutical services.
