Jean-Marie Basset

Jean-Marie Basset is currently the Director of the KAUST Catalysis Center at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia. He previously held research positions at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in France from 1971 to 2010, including Research Director in the Classe exceptionnelle (1986-2010) and Maître de Recherches (1977-1983). Earlier roles include Associate Professor at the University of Lyon (1970-1971) and Postdoctoral work at the University of Toronto (1969-1970).

His research focuses on surface organometallic chemistry and catalysis chemistry, bridging fundamental chemical science with industrial applications in catalytic processes.
