Graz University of Technologyمعرفی
Odile Eisenstein is a Researcher at the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) and Université Montpellier 2, France. She has held adjunct and visiting professorships at institutions including the University of Oslo, UC Berkeley, Indiana University, and Technion. Her research focuses on computational chemistry and organometallic reaction mechanisms, particularly involving C-H and C-F bond activation, DFT calculations, and transition metal catalysis.
Her editorial leadership includes Editor-in-Chief of the New Journal of Chemistry and advisory roles on multiple journal editorial boards. She has organized international conferences, including the 2018 International Congress of Quantum Chemistry in Menton, and served on evaluation committees for CNRS and international academies.
- Education: PhD (1977, Université Paris-Sud; summa cum laude)
Research Interests span theoretical and computational approaches to organometallic reactivity, including bond activation, NMR property analysis, and catalytic cycles. Her article trends highlight DFT-driven mechanistic insights in olefin metathesis, water oxidation, and metal-hydride reactivity.
Scientific Awards:
- Officier de l'Ordre de la Légion d'honneur (2018)
- International Member of the US National Academy of Sciences (2021)
- ACS Organometallic Award (2009)
- Doctor Honoris Causae: Indiana University (1998), Université Laval (2012), among others
She has delivered over 100 international and 30 French invited lectures, including the 2006 Sir Edward Frankland lecture tour. Her administrative roles include directing teams at the Institut Charles Gerhardt Montpellier and serving on scientific councils for CNRS and international organizations.
