Jazmin Sierra is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame and a Faculty Fellow at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies. She coordinates the Notre Dame Latin American Politics Workshop. Her research focuses on political economy, particularly state-business relations, global production networks, and energy politics.

Research Interests: Her work examines globalized state-led development strategies, including outward investments by domestic firms and the political conditions enabling such policies. Key themes include international financial ties between China and the U.S., Latin American commodity-driven growth models, and the role of transnational activism in shaping development policies.
Publications: Recent works include analyses of Sino-U.S. financial dynamics, Latin America's political economy challenges, and Brazil's state-led globalization. Her research appears in Comparative Political Studies, International Studies Quarterly, and Security Studies.
