Bruno Binetti

Bruno Binetti is a non-resident fellow at the Inter-American Dialogue in Washington DC and holds a PhD from the London School of Economics (LSE). He previously served as a visiting professor at Torcuato Di Tella University (UTDT) in Argentina, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses on International Political Economy, U.S. Foreign Policy, and Latin American International Relations theory. His research focuses on Latin America’s relations with China and the U.S., democratic governance, and China’s infrastructure diplomacy in the region.

Research Interests: Explores the political economy of Chinese infrastructure projects in Latin America, the impact of U.S.-China strategic competition on regional governance, and the Belt and Road Initiative’s socio-economic implications. His work bridges international political economy with regional security studies, emphasizing case studies from Argentina and Venezuela.

Professional Activities: Advises on hemispheric affairs through think tanks and has published analyses on Venezuela’s political crisis and Argentina’s post-pandemic economic policies. His multilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) facilitate field research across Latin America.
