Javier Rivas Rodriguez

Javier Rivas Rodriguez is a PhD candidate in Music at King’s College London and currently holds a Visiting Researcher and Lecturer position at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC). His research focuses on academic reform in higher music education, with fieldwork at ESMUC, and intersects with themes of equity, inclusion, and radical care in education. He has taught at King’s College London, University College London, and ESMUC, emphasizing anthropology, ethnomusicology, and social theory. Since 2019, he has led the King’s - St George’s - Water City Music Academy, an outreach initiative in Southwark, London.
