Javier Moscoso is a Research Professor of History and Philosophy of Science at the Institute of History, Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Madrid, Spain. He has held visiting positions at Harvard University, University of Chicago, Paris-I Sorbonne, and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin.
- Education: Doctoral Fellow at Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine; Postdoctoral Fellow at Max Planck Institute for the History of Science; Fulbright Scholar at Harvard University (1995-1996).
- Research Focus: Subjective experiences, history of emotions, cultural history, and knowledge transfer. His work bridges historical analysis with philosophical inquiry, emphasizing bodily experiences and emotional narratives.
- Academic Leadership: Former Head of Humanities and Social Sciences Section (2005-2006) and Department (2005-2007) at the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. Currently coordinates humanities activities at CSIC.
- Public Engagement: Curator of exhibitions on Monsters and Imaginary Beings (2000), History of Pain (2004), and Cultural History of Human Skin (2011). Reviewed in journals like The Lancet, Science, and Nature.
