Valentin Groebner

Prof. Dr. Valentin Groebner is a Professor of Medieval and Renaissance History at the Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences, University of Lucerne. He has held visiting positions at Harvard University (2000) and École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris (2001).

Research Interests include the visual culture of the Middle Ages, historical narratives, authenticity in tourism, and societal concepts of purity. His work bridges interdisciplinary analysis with cultural history, focusing on how visual and textual media shape identity and social control.
