Javier Horta

Javier Horta is an Associate Teaching Professor and Program Director for the Undergraduate Applied Biomedical Sciences Program at the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences, University of Massachusetts Lowell. He holds a joint appointment in the Biomedical and Nutritional Sciences department.

Dr. Horta’s research focuses on adsorption chemistry in biomedical contexts, with a particular emphasis on homocysteine and aminothiol interactions with titanium dioxide nanoparticles. He also contributes to chemical education through innovative laboratory experiment design.
