Dr. Jasper Green is an Associate Professor (Teaching) and Head of Initial Teacher Education at University College London's Institute of Education (IOE), part of the Faculty of Education and Society. He has over 20 years of experience in science education, transitioning from secondary school teaching to leadership roles in schools and multi-academy trusts. Before joining UCL in 2019 as a senior teaching fellow, he served as Her Majesty's Inspector (HMI) and subject lead for science at Ofsted, overseeing the Science Research Review and subsequent Subject Report. He returned to IOE in 2022 to lead Initial Teacher Education.
His research focuses on curriculum design, pedagogical strategies, and teacher training. He authored the influential 2020 book *Powerful Ideas of Science and How to Teach Them*, which explores effective methods for teaching core scientific concepts.
