Jason Petrin is an Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music, affiliated with the Electronic Production and Design (EPD) and Songwriting and Production departments. He splits his career between freelance production/engineering, DJ performances, and academic roles. Graduated from Berklee in 2004, Petrin co-founded the DJ duo Jefr Tale, performing globally at Ultra Music Festival, Burning Man, and other major events. His work spans electronic production, hip-hop, and pop songwriting. Awards include the 2013 Rob Fusari Producer Challenge and 2015 USA Songwriting Competition win.
Teaches 10 courses at Berklee, focusing on music production and live performance. Collaborations include Stuart Software and Str!pe. Notable recordings include '500 Miles' and 'Start Again'. Active in both academic and professional music communities, with a focus on blending studio techniques with live performance innovation.
