Jason Oliver Evans is a Lecturer and PhD recipient (2024) in Religious Studies at the University of Virginia. His research focuses on Christology, Black and Womanist Theologies, and Queer Theologies. He serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and contributor to the Race, Religion, and Democracy Lab. Evans holds a Master of Divinity from Duke University and a Bachelor of Science from Millersville University. His awards include the Jefferson GSAS Fellowship and Dissertation Fellowship from the Louisville Institute. He has published in The Conversation and contributed peer-reviewed reviews in Reading Religion. Evans’ work emphasizes liberation theology, postcolonial thought, and the intersection of race, gender, and spirituality.
