Jason Kirby

Dr. Jason Kirby is an Associate Professor and Director of the Online Master's in Engineering in Sustainable Smart Cities at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He leads a program collaborating with Staffordshire University in the UK. His expertise lies in environmental engineering and sustainable urban development.

Education: B.S. in Environmental Science from Auburn University, M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil/Environmental Engineering from the University of Alabama.

Research Focus: Environmental sustainability, transportation safety, air/water quality, and green infrastructure. He emphasizes engineering practices that balance ecological preservation with societal needs. Recent work includes studies on highway maintenance safety, autoclaved aerated concrete sustainability, and air pollution impacts on public health.
