Jennifer Eisenhauer Tanner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management at the University of Wyoming, where she has held positions including Chair of ACI 526 (Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) and Co-Chair of ACI 440L (Durability of Fiber Reinforced Polymers). Her work bridges experimental research, code development, and education, with a focus on structural materials and their performance.
- B.A. in Mathematics (Eastern College, 1994)
- B.S. in Civil Engineering (Oklahoma State University, 1995)
- M.S. in Structural Engineering (University of Costa Rica, 1998)
- Ph.D. in Structural Engineering (The University of Texas at Austin, 2003)
Her research spans structural engineering challenges, particularly in concrete and masonry durability, non-destructive testing, and seismic performance. She has pioneered work on autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) and CFRP repair systems, producing design guidelines for national codes. Her 15 most recent publications reflect expertise in ASR mitigation, sustainable material reuse, and structural analysis under dynamic loads.
Scientific Awards
- Jenny Fellowship
Advising includes mentoring current and former graduate students like Tarik Hossain, Caleb Pachel, and Josh Ring. Her lab has executed projects for WYDOT, NCHRP, and AltusGROUP, focusing on bridge deck evaluation, ASR risk assessment, and shear transfer reinforcement for precast panels.
