Jason Farman is a Professor of American Studies and Associate Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Maryland, College Park. He is also affiliated with the Human-Computer Interaction Lab. His research explores digital cultures, embodiment, space/place, and the history of technology. Farman holds a Ph.D. in performance studies from UCLA (2006), an M.A. from Claremont Graduate University (2002), and a B.A. from Westmont College (2000).
His work bridges media studies, performance studies, and material culture, with notable publications like Delayed Response (Yale, 2018) and Mobile Interface Theory (Routledge, 2012).
