Mark Farman

Mark Farman is a Professor at the University of Kentucky, affiliated with the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment and the Department of Plant Pathology. He serves as Director of the Advanced Genetic Technologies Center and leads the Farman Lab.

Research Focus: The Farman Lab investigates fungal pathogenesis mechanisms in Magnaporthe oryzae, emphasizing fungal genome evolution, telomere roles in pathogenic variation, and high-throughput protein localization during host infection.

Teaching: Courses include PPA 600 (Critical Methods in Plant-Microbe Interactions), PPA 500 (Physiology of Plant Health and Disease) as guest lecturer, and PPA 784 (Special Problems in Plant Pathology).

Educational Background: PhD in Molecular Biology (1990) and BS in Biology (1983) from the University of East Anglia, UK.
