Jason E. Farrar, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH). He serves as Director of the ACRI Genomic Core Laboratory, Co-Director of the ACH Leukemia and Lymphoma Program, and holds leadership roles in the Quaternary Research Program, Children’s Oncology Group (COG), and North American Pediatric Aplastic Anemia Consortium. His clinical and research focus includes hematologic malignancies, inherited bone marrow failure, and leukemia genomics.

- Fellowships: Johns Hopkins Medical Institutes (2006) and National Cancer Institute (2006)
Research Interests: Dr. Farrar’s work explores the genetic basis of Diamond Blackfan anemia, pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and myeloid malignancies. His team employs bioinformatic and next-generation sequencing (NGS) approaches to analyze epigenetic features in treatment-resistant AML and bone marrow failure pathophysiology.
Leadership & Institutional Roles: He leads the ACRI Genomic Core Laboratory, co-chairs the ACH Leukemia and Lymphoma Program, and contributes to the COG Myeloid Diseases Committee and the Diamond Blackfan Anemia Registry’s Scientific Advisory Board. Funded since 2008 as PI on K08, R01, and DOD grants, he also mentors over 25 junior faculty, fellows, and students annually.
