Jason D’Antonio

Jason D’Antonio is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University and Director of the Health Professions Program. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy and Environmental, Population, & Organismic Biology from the University of Colorado, a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and a postdoctoral appointment at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. His teaching focuses on courses such as Human Physiology, Cancer Biology, and Immunology, emphasizing the integration of cellular and molecular concepts into human health contexts. As Director of the Health Professions Program (HPP), he oversees advising for students pursuing careers in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and biomedical sciences. The HPP’s committee interview process provides students with feedback on their applications, preparing them for professional interviews. Dr. D’Antonio’s research interests revolve around androgen receptor signaling in prostate cancer, with publications in journals like Prostate, PLoS ONE, and Endocr Relat Cancer.
