Jason DeBlanc serves as an Adjunct Instructor in the Commercial Music Program within Auburn University's College of Liberal Arts, while concurrently holding a 17-year position in the university's Office of Information Technology.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University, where he was deeply involved in musical ensembles including the AU Jazz Band, AU Singers, and Auburn Knights, culminating in his role as drum major for the marching band during his final year.
DeBlanc's instructional expertise centers on contemporary music performance across Jazz, Rock, Funk, and Country genres. His teaching integrates 17+ years of professional experience as a touring bassist throughout the United States with technical precision from his engineering background, emphasizing practical industry skills over theoretical research.
As an Adjunct Instructor without research grants or formal student supervision, DeBlanc focuses exclusively on performance pedagogy.
