Jason Begley is an Associate Professor at Coventry University's Centre for Business in Society, part of the Faculty of Business and Law. He holds a doctorate in Economic History from the University of Limerick (2002) and conducted post-doctoral research at Trinity College Dublin on 19th-century Irish GDP estimation. His research focuses on long-run statistical series, economic development, and the automotive industry, with notable contributions to regional economic analysis and PhD supervision frameworks. He currently serves as PGR Lead, overseeing doctoral programmes and co-authoring 'Roadmap to a Successful PhD in Business & Management.'
Research interests span GDP estimation, wage series analysis, low-carbon vehicles, and urban-rural connectivity. He has secured funding for projects like Future Transport (2022), Urban-Rural Connectivity (2018), and BRITE Park (2011). His publications include works in the Cambridge Journal of Economics and Business History, addressing topics from Irish economic history to contemporary regional policy challenges.
Begley's collaborative projects emphasize policy relevance, such as analyzing post-pandemic transport modes and electric vehicle adoption. He actively participates in academic networks like GERPISA and the Regional Studies Association, contributing to conferences and workshops on industrial resilience and knowledge economies.
