Dr. Deirdre Brady is an Assistant Professor/Lecturer in Business Studies at Mary Immaculate College (MIC), Limerick, Ireland. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and holds a Ph.D., M.A., and MII qualifications. Her research focuses on Irish literary history, cultural networks, and the intersection of business with cultural production. She is a co-founder of the Creative Business History Network, an interdisciplinary initiative connecting scholars and practitioners.
Brady’s work examines 20th-century Irish literary coteries, such as the Irish Women Writers’ Club (1933-1958), exploring their roles in shaping literary prizes, cultural diplomacy, and publishing dynamics. She has published a monograph, Literary Coteries and the Irish Women Writers’ Club (1933-1958), and contributed to journals like English Studies and New Hibernia Review. Her research also extends to modernist presses, including the Gayfield Press, and the transnational activities of Irish PEN.
Brady actively participates in academic communities, serving on MIC’s Environmental and Sustainability Committee and Writers Retreat Committee. She has presented keynote addresses on topics like the international networks of the Irish Women Writers’ Club and co-authored work on reflective writing in blended learning programs.
Her contributions to digital platforms include entries for the Modernist Archives Publishing Project and a video on reflective writing for the University of Limerick’s UL Talks series. Brady’s interdisciplinary approach bridges business history, cultural studies, and gender analysis, enriching both scholarly discourse and pedagogical innovation.
