Dr. Jasmine Pearson is a Research Fellow in Private Land Conservation at RMIT University's School of Global, Urban and Social Studies (GUSS). Her work focuses on social-ecological systems, particularly assessing socio-cultural, economic, and ecological benefits of private protected areas through the ARC Linkage Project 'More than a reserve?'. She holds expertise in relational values, human-nature connections, gender dynamics, and Indigenous/local knowledge systems. Her research aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals 15 (Life on Land), 3 (Good Health), 13 (Climate Action), and 11 (Sustainable Cities).
Teaching experience includes delivering lectures on Climate Change, Indigenous Knowledge, and Environmental Humanities across undergraduate/postgraduate levels. She co-designed 'Valuing nature: reflecting on transdisciplinary methods' at Leuphana University, Germany.
