Janis Mimura is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at Stony Brook University, specializing in modern Japanese history and global interactions. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley (2002). Her research focuses on Japan's role in WWII, imperialism, and transnational connections with Eurasia, particularly examining technocratic networks and Axis alliances. She has been awarded grants from the Fulbright Foundation and Japan Foundation for her work. Courses taught include surveys of Japanese history, global fascism, and WWII in Asia.
