Janice Hoshino is currently a Professor and Chair of Creative Arts Therapy at Antioch University Seattle within the School of Applied Psychology, Counseling and Family Therapy. She holds dual expertise in Art Therapy and Marriage and Family Therapy, with over 24 years of clinical and teaching experience.
- BA in Art Education from Edinboro University
- MA in Art Therapy from Indiana University of Pennsylvania
- PhD in Psychology (specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy) from U.S. International University
Her research focuses on Art Therapy and Family Therapy, emphasizing Multicultural Counseling, Multigenerational Trauma, and Resilience in Mental Health. Her publications explore themes such as body image, trauma recovery, and cultural competence in therapeutic settings.
She has contributed to journals like the Journal of the American Art Therapy Association and co-authored books including Family Art Therapy. Her work highlights integrative approaches, combining yoga with art therapy and addressing historical trauma in marginalized communities.
