Janice Glowski is a Professor and Director of Museum & Galleries at Otterbein University, specializing in Asian Art History and interdisciplinary curatorial work. She teaches in Art History & Visual Culture, Art, and Integrative Studies programs, emphasizing creativity’s role in societal well-being and diversity.
Dr. Glowski holds a PhD in Asian Art History from The Ohio State University, with additional degrees in Comparative Religious Studies and Chemistry. Her work bridges art, religion, and science, reflected in exhibitions such as Charles Csuri: Beyond Boundaries and Lands, Real and Imagined. She co-founded Otterbein and the Arts: Opening Doors to the World (ODW), producing eight exhibition catalogs.
Her research spans Buddhist art, South Asian studies, and digital art curation. She has received NEA and OAC grants, and her work with the Pandemic Portraits catalog was short-listed for the CAA Alfred H. Barr Jr. Award. Current projects include a 2024 Himalayan Art Project and exhibitions in Chile.
Glowski collaborates across disciplines, managing grants from Mellon Foundation, Kress Foundation, and others. Her teaching includes courses in African art, museum studies, and religion-protest art in South Asia.
