Janet Lees

Professor Janet Lees is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. She leads the Concrete Infrastructure Research Group (CIRG) within the Civil Engineering Division and serves as Director of the University of Cambridge EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Infrastructure and Built Environment.

Her research focuses on sustainable reinforced concrete infrastructure, including strength assessment of existing structures, tailored concrete systems, and application of high-performance materials in construction. She bridges academic research with industry experience, having worked in both consulting and contracting roles prior to her academic career.
