Andreea Serbescu

Dr Andreea Serbescu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of the Natural and Built Environment at Sheffield Hallam University. She holds a PhD in Civil and Structural Engineering from The University of Sheffield. Her research focuses on innovative materials for concrete rehabilitation, sustainable construction practices, and FRP reinforcement systems. Key areas include durability of FRP-to-concrete bonds, bamboo reinforcement in temporary structures, and circular economy strategies in construction. She is actively involved in international research networks like the European Network for Composite Reinforcement (En-Core) and the International Federation for Structural Concrete (fib).

Education: PhD in Civil and Structural Engineering, The University of Sheffield.

Research Interests: Rehabilitation of concrete structures using advanced composites, sustainable construction materials, BIM technologies for deconstruction, and FRP durability. Her work emphasizes minimizing environmental impact while ensuring structural safety and economic efficiency.
