Janet Hilton is a Clarinet Professor at the Royal College of Music (RCM), where she previously served as Head of Woodwind for twelve years. A distinguished international clarinettist, she has performed with major British orchestras, participated in renowned festivals such as Edinburgh, Cheltenham, and the BBC Proms, and toured across Europe, the USA, Australia, and Asia. Her collaborations include the Lindsay String Quartet and orchestras like the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. She maintains an active teaching presence, delivering masterclasses globally despite a 2020 hiatus. Her discography spans over 40 recordings, featuring works by Weber, Brahms, Mozart, Bliss, and composers who wrote concertos specifically for her.
