Marie Lloyd is a Clarinet Professor, Head of Woodwind, and E Flat Clarinet professor (second or related study) at the Royal College of Music (RCM). She holds academic roles in both teaching and administration within the Woodwind department. Her professional affiliations include membership in the Chamber Orchestra of Europe since 2001, where she collaborates with renowned conductors like Sir Simon Rattle and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. She also serves as a Guest Principal clarinettist with UK orchestras such as BBC NOW and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden’s orchestra.
Education: Studied clarinet at Trinity College of Music and the Royal College of Music under Colin Bradbury and Richard Hosford. Specializes in classical and chamber music performance, with notable performances including Janacek’s *Mladi* and Mozart’s *Gran Partita K361*. Active in the Nash Ensemble’s Wigmore Hall series for world premieres and recordings.
Teaching Experience: Previously taught at Wells Cathedral School and the RCM’s Junior Academy.
