Melissa Phelps is a Cello Professor at the Royal College of Music (RCM), appointed after prior professorships at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and Guildhall School of Music and Drama (where she began at age 29). A globally recognized soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician, she has performed with orchestras like the London Sinfonietta and BBC Welsh Symphony Orchestra, and collaborated with artists such as Sándor Végh, Salvatore Accardo, and the Nash Ensemble. Her pedagogical influence extends through former students who are now acclaimed musicians and international prize winners.
