Janet Box-Steffensmeier is Vernal Riffe Professor of Political Science and Professor of Sociology at Ohio State University. She directs the Program in Statistics and Methodology (PRISM) and the American Institutions and Methodology Lab, specializing in advanced quantitative methods and legislative behavior.
Education includes a PhD from University of Texas at Austin. Her research employs innovative methodologies to examine congressional processes, interest group networks, and temporal dynamics in politics.
Awards include election to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (2017), Warren E. Miller Award (2013), and career recognition from multiple political science associations. She has served as president of the American Political Science Association and Midwest Political Science Association.
