Jane Thomas

Jane Thomas is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior at Purdue University Northwest's College of Business. She also serves as Assistant Academic Director of the Leadership Institute. Her research focuses on workplace relationships, team dynamics, and emotional labor, informed by her prior HR experience. Dr. Thomas holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Science from UNC Charlotte and a B.A. in Psychology from Penn State.

Her teaching emphasizes active learning and real-world application, with courses spanning organizational behavior, human resource management, and employment law. She has pioneered innovative hybrid teaching methods during the pandemic, earning recognition as a PIVOT program faculty mentor. Notable research contributions include studies on project team viability, leader-member exchange dynamics, and emotional regulation in workplace meetings.
