Jane Strawhecker, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK), where she has been a faculty member since 2000. Her research focuses on three key areas: 1) innovative pedagogical strategies for PreK-Grade 6 mathematics, 2) integrating STEM concepts in early childhood education, and 3) evaluating educator effectiveness in delivering math content. She holds a Ph.D. in Teaching, Curriculum, and Learning (K-8 Mathematics Education) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2004), an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from Mid-America Nazarene University (1992), and a B.A. in Elementary Education with a mathematics minor from Kearney State College (1986).
Dr. Strawhecker’s expertise spans curriculum design, early childhood education, and instructional strategies. Her work emphasizes practical applications for classroom teachers, particularly in enhancing mathematics education and STEM integration in early grades. She has contributed to teacher education programs and professional development initiatives aimed at improving educational outcomes for young learners.
